In the Instagram app a profile picture is shown as a small cropped circle, so details are hard to see. This page gives you the full-size version of the picture, so you can view it clearly. No app, no account and no password.
To save an Instagram profile picture, copy the profile link, paste it into the box at the top of this page and press Download. This page is made for profile pictures only. If your link is a post, a Reel, a story or a video, use the matching tool for that format instead.
DP stands for display picture, the profile picture or avatar shown at the top of an Instagram profile and next to every comment and message from that account. Instagram shows it as a small circle, which hides fine detail, text and background. A DP downloader returns the larger version of that same picture, so you can see it properly.
The picture you download is the one the account currently uses as its profile picture. If the account changes its picture later, the new picture replaces the old one, and an earlier download on your device does not update on its own. To get the new version, copy the profile link again and download it again.
Paste the link of the Instagram profile, which usually looks like instagram.com followed by the username. The easiest way to get it is from the profile itself: open the profile, tap Share Profile in the app, or copy the address from the browser address bar on a computer.
Do not paste the link of a single post, Reel, story or video when you want the profile picture. Those links point to a different item, and the photo, Reels or video tool is the right choice for them. A profile link keeps the request simple and points the downloader at the avatar.
A profile picture is public metadata. It is the small image Instagram shows next to an account name in search results, comments and messages, and it is visible even when the account itself is private. That is why the avatar can be shown for a private account while the rest of that account stays closed.
This distinction matters. Private posts, stories and reels cannot be downloaded, and this tool does not change that. If an account is private, only its profile picture is public in this way; its posts, stories, highlights and reels stay private and are not accessible to the downloader.
Full size here means the larger version of the profile picture that Instagram stores, rather than the tiny cropped circle shown in the app. The download is therefore noticeably clearer than a screenshot of the small circle, and it keeps the picture in its original proportions instead of a cropped round shape.
Quality is limited to the version Instagram provides for that avatar. A low-resolution or heavily compressed profile picture cannot be made sharper by downloading it, and this page does not upscale or enhance the image. What you get is the picture as the account uploaded it, at the size Instagram makes available.
The profile picture is saved as an image file, which opens in any photo viewer or browser and can be set as a contact photo or kept in your gallery. Where the file is saved depends on your browser and your phone or computer settings, usually the default downloads folder.
If you need a post photo rather than a profile picture, the photo downloader handles post images. If you need several photos from one post, the carousel downloader lists each photo for download. Each tool on this site is built for one format, which keeps the result easy to understand.
Step-by-step help is in the DP download guide. For other formats, try the main Instagram downloader, the photo downloader, the Reels downloader and the story downloader.
Use the link of the profile itself. A post, Reel or story link points to a different item and belongs in its own tool.
An incomplete link is a common cause. Copy it again from Share Profile in Instagram or from the browser address bar and paste it in full.
If the profile page itself will not open, the downloader cannot fetch its picture either. Check your connection and try again.
For a private account only the profile picture is public. Its posts, stories and reels cannot be downloaded, so do not expect them from this page.
If another profile works, the problem is with the first profile or its link, not with your device or browser.
Only if you own it or have permission from the person in the picture. A profile picture can be a portrait of a real person, a logo or artwork that belongs to someone else. Saving it for personal viewing is one thing, but reposting it, using it as your own picture or using it in an advert without permission can break privacy and copyright rules. Follow Instagram’s terms and the law where you live.
Open the Instagram profile, copy its profile link, paste the link into the box at the top of this page, press Download and save the profile picture shown in the result.
