Instagram Downloader

To download from Instagram, copy the link of a public post, Reel or photo, paste it into the box at the top of this page and press Download. The result shows the files found for that post, and you choose what to save.

InstaDownloader is one tool for the common public formats. Use the Reels page for short vertical videos, the photo page for pictures and carousels, and the HD page when video quality matters most. Private, deleted or restricted posts cannot be downloaded.

This downloader runs in the browser, so the steps are the same on every device: copy the link in Instagram, paste it here and press Download. There is no app to install and no account to create, which also means there is nothing to update when you switch phones.

On Android

Open the post in the Instagram app, tap Share and choose Copy link, then paste it into the box at the top of this page. Saved files normally go to the Downloads folder, where your gallery or file manager can find them. If the download does not start, check that your browser is allowed to download files and that you have free storage space.

On iPhone

Copy the link from the Instagram app in the same way, paste it here in Safari or your usual browser and press Download. On iPhone, downloaded files usually appear in the Files app under Downloads, and from there you can move a video or photo into your Photos library. If a file opens in the browser instead of downloading, use the share menu in the browser and choose Save to Files.

On a computer

On Windows or Mac, copy the link from the address bar of the Instagram post in your browser, paste it here and save the file to the folder you choose. Desktop browsers make it easier to check a file before you keep it, and to rename it right away so you can find it later.

The downloader works with links to public Instagram posts. That includes public video posts, Reels, photo posts, carousels and, through the dedicated pages, public stories, profile pictures and longer videos. The link must point to one specific post: a link to a profile page, a feed, an Explore page or a search result does not identify a file to download.

Links that will not work include posts from private accounts, posts that have been deleted, posts that are restricted in your region, and posts whose owner has limited who can view them. In those cases the post is simply not publicly accessible, so no downloader can fetch it, and trying a different link to the same post will give the same result.

If a link fails, try this first

Copy the link again directly from the post instead of retyping it, and make sure the whole address was copied. Then check that the post is still public and still online by opening the link in Instagram. If it opens there but the download still fails, try the dedicated tool page for that format, for example the Reels downloader for a Reel or the story downloader for a story, and try once more with a freshly copied link.

Downloading a file for your own viewing is different from reusing it. If you want to repost, publish or use someone else's video or photo anywhere else, ask the creator first or only use content you own. Giving credit does not replace permission, and it does not change who owns the original work.

Never enter your Instagram password on this site or on any downloader site. A genuine downloader only needs the public post link, and asking for a password is a sign to stop.
