How to Download Instagram Videos

Instagram does not offer a simple save-to-device button for most videos. This guide shows how to save a public Instagram video through your browser on Android, iPhone or a computer.

What you need
You need the link of a public Instagram video post and a browser on your phone, tablet or computer. The downloader does not ask you to log in, and you should never enter your Instagram password on any downloader site.
Step 1: Find the video and copy its link
In the Instagram app, open the video, tap the Share arrow or the three dots and choose Copy link.
On a computer, open the video post in your browser and copy the address from the address bar.
A video link usually starts with instagram.com/p/ or instagram.com/reel/. Copy the link of one specific post, not a profile or a story.

Step 3: Paste the video link and press Download
Paste the link into the box at the top of the page. The Paste button works on supported browsers, or you can paste by hand. Make sure the link belongs to the post you want, then press Download.

How to download Instagram videos on Android
Copy the video link in the Instagram app, open the downloader in Chrome or another browser, paste the link and press Download. The saved file usually goes to the Downloads folder, which you can open from the Files app or the download list of your browser.
How to download Instagram videos on iPhone
Copy the video link in the Instagram app, open the downloader in Safari, paste the link and press Download. After saving, tap the download icon in the Safari address bar and open the file from the Files app. To keep it in your photo library, open the video, tap Share and choose Save Video if your phone offers it.
How to download Instagram videos on a computer
Copy the video link from the address bar of your browser, open the downloader, paste the link and press Download. The browser saves the file to its default Downloads folder, or asks where to save it if that option is on.
Video quality and availability
The quality depends on the original upload and on what the public post provides. The downloader cannot create a higher-quality version than the source, so an HD video is saved in HD and a low-resolution upload stays low-resolution. More details are on the HD video downloader page.
If the Instagram video is not working
The link is incomplete
Copy the link again from the Share menu and paste it in full.
The post is private, removed or restricted
A video can be unavailable when the post was removed, restricted or made private. Check that you can open it without logging in.
The link is a Reel or a photo post
Reel links work too, and the Reels downloader is made for them. For pictures, use the photo downloader.
Wait for the result card
Long videos take longer. Keep the page open until the result card appears before pressing the save button.
Use downloaded videos responsibly
Downloaded videos may belong to their original creators. Respect copyright, creator permissions and Instagram's rules before you repost, edit or use a video commercially.
